What is the best format for the web?
WebP offers the best balance of quality and file size for most web images — typically 25-35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality. AVIF is newer and even smaller, but browser support is still catching up. Use PNG only when you need lossless transparency.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
The tool extracts the first frame of animated GIFs for conversion. Full animation preservation when converting between formats requires a specialized tool.

Does converting to PNG increase file size?
