Split PDF

Separate a PDF into individual pages or extract specific page ranges. Everything runs in your browser — files are never uploaded.

Extract exactly the pages you need

Need to send just a few pages from a long report? Want to separate a scanned document into individual files? This tool splits your PDF into smaller files by page number or range — all without uploading anything. Pages are copied losslessly, so quality is identical to the original.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I specify page ranges?
Use comma-separated values like "1-3, 5, 7-10". To create multiple output files, separate groups with a semicolon: "1-3; 4-6; 7-10" creates 3 separate PDFs. You can mix single pages and ranges freely.
Is there a page limit?
No artificial limits. The tool can handle PDFs with hundreds of pages. Very large documents (500+ pages) may take a few seconds since processing is done locally.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. You need to remove the password first using our Unlock PDF tool, then split the resulting file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire split operation happens in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is read locally, split in memory, and the results are downloaded directly. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
Does splitting affect quality?
No. Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the original. Text, images, links, and all other content remain identical to the source.
What is the "Split every page" option?
It creates a separate PDF for each page in your document. A 10-page PDF becomes 10 individual 1-page files. Useful for isolating specific pages you want to send separately.
